Researchers employ three company theories to understand and clarify the company structures and operational tricks of policing. These kinds of theories are (1) the contingency theory, (2) the institutional theory, and (3) the useful resource dependency theory. The a contingency theory is convinced that agencies are created and structured to achieve specific goals, such as offense control. The institutional theory holds that police agencies are social institutions that operate with regards to their external social and political conditions. Finally, the resource dependency theory acknowledges that organizations must get resources to survive, and to obtain resources, they must engage in exchanges with other agencies in their environment (Walker & Katz, 2008).
Policing organizations run according to one of the three organizational ideas; each policing organization's set up theory is going to dictate it is operations. In a contingent business, operations are contingent after the community's circumstances. If gang activity is a widespread problem in the community, the police firm would type a particular gang product. In an institutional police firm, operations are dictated simply by sovereigns inside the community. These sovereigns are the mayor, town council, or perhaps citizens. Institutional policing businesses are produced according to the opinions of community sovereigns. Resource dependent law enforcement officials departments operate on available assets.
