In June of 1996, the FCC proposed a mandate for E-911 solutions. The wireless E911 order provides value-added services for all mobile phone users and consumers.
This regulation has designed to apply 911 requirements for cellular, PCS and SMR carriers. The FCC has generated telecommunication regulations to provide 911 usage of consumers. The requirements have already been planned in a three-level deployment process. However, it had been later revamped into a two-phase procedure. This regulation (CC Docket Zero. 94-102) has many diverse parts, which are under reconsideration by the FCC. Essentially, the regulation necessitates that MLTS (Multi-Line Telephone System) providers to supply emergency service by single line residential, business phone service and wireless services whether telephone products and services are operating or certainly not. As my company is a wireless telephone provider, I am concentrating on the wireless regulations connected with CC Docket No. 94-102. The FCC requires all cellular providers to simply accept 911 phone calls from any wireless phone. Even those mobile phones that contain no service deal or number assigned. With wireless phone calls, a user will be able to dial 911 and reach a 911 operator if the cellular phone is under contract and operating or not. These demands emergency assistance are free of demand. As a call is perfect for any 911 crisis, the cellular provider's program will route the decision to the nearest 911 operator. Thus performing as a locating provider for an individual and the emergency operations. This mandated will need influence on October of 2001.
